The Hauraki

The Hauraki Gulf is the island-studded water that lies mainly east and south of Auckland. Covering over 4000m2, it the perfect playground from thousands of enthusiastic sailors, fishermen and tourists. It has hosted many world class sailing events including the America’s Cup and Snapper, Kingfish and Kahawai abound. From the wooded volcano island of Rangitoto to the tiny green gem of Brown’s Island, it embraces a wonderful collection of very varied and beautiful islands with coves and beaches where you can moor, bathe and picnic.
